For the first time, Swiss design actors will come together and invest Casa degli Artisti, a unique location in the heart of Brera district, during the Milan Design Week from April 5-10, 2022.
At the invitation of Pro Helvetia, Presence Switzerland and Switzerland Global Enterprise, institutions, schools and brands will offer a glimpse of the Swiss design industry at the heart of this major industry week.
How do living spaces evolve to adapt to our changing society? Pro Helvetia organises an exhibition during the 2022 Milan Design Week (5-10 April) with the intention to hear a new generation of Swiss Designers voice their propositions and open conversations about the impact of the societal, environmental and technological shifts on our spaces of living.
With this open call, Pro Helvetia is inviting upcoming Swiss design studios to contribute to this exhibition. The open call seeks for designers and studios to present their approach on the question with high quality projects and practices that embody i.a. inclusivity, sustainability, equitability. The living spaces can be widely interpreted: from inside to outside spaces, from tangible to intangible, from low to high tech.

Open Call Criteria
- Project about living spaces
- Projects must be a prototype or manufactured series at the time of the exhibition
- The design studio’s practices should have commercial reach
- The applicants may submit a project up to seven years after completing their studies or founding their studio
- The applicants must be Swiss citizens or permanently reside in Switzerland
Pro Helvetia Support
Pro Helvetia enables emerging Swiss designers to gain visibility, to build professional networks and reach their commercial goals. Therefore, in addition to the exhibition, selected participating studios will benefit from a personalized matchmaking programme and the exhibition will be amplified by national and international PR.
The participants will receive financial support and a stipend for accommodation/travel of CHF 1’000.-
