SWISS CRAFTLAB presents a selection of emerging and established Swiss designers.

Switzerland is the guest country at the Vienna Design Week, giving the opportunity to present several aspects of the Swiss design scene. Among them, the NOV and OKRO galleries will present the joint exhibition SWISS CRAFTLAB, a showcase of ancestral techniques and craftsmanship revisited with the purpose of creating a new
contemporary aesthetic. While ancestral materials take on new forms, traditional objects evolve into new uses.

Selected designers:

  • Dimitri Bähler
  • Egli Studio & Matthieu Girel
  • Sebastian Marbacher & Mara Tschudi
  • Christophe Marchand
  • Ulysse Martel & Candice Blanc
  • Ulysse Martel & Milos Ristin
  • Jonas Noel Niedermann
  • Laurin Schaub
  • Marie Schumann
  • Robert Wettstein

Founded in 2013, NOV is a Geneva based contemporary design gallery that aims to
shed light on the work of emerging designers and graduates of Swiss design schools. Founder Nicole Chebeir Ragy offers a showcase for the new wave of Swiss design, with a focus on superior craftsmanship.

OKRO develops and edits contemporary design objects in collaboration with selected craftsmen, designers and architects. Based in Chur, OKRO uses the cultural diversity of its immediate surroundings and complements regional craftsmanship with international design. The aim of this exchange is to stimulate and establish affinities and relationships between design authors, manufacturers and customers.
