Design Switzerland is proud to announce the 8 upcoming studios that will attend the Milan Design Week in April. The designers’ works showcase the creativity, innovative qualities and the singularity of the Swiss design industry.

Here is the full lineup:

To mark the beginning of this new decade in design, Design Switzerland is delighted to move to Alcova a new exhibition space to showcase the work of the selected studios.

Alcova is a platform for independent design developed by Space Caviar and Studio Vedèt. Currently operating as an itinerant network of exhibition spaces across multiple sites in and around Milan, it activates forgotten locations of historical significance, temporarily recasting them as venues for performative activities.

Last but not least, a Call for projects was launched by the end of 2019 to design a site specific scenography of this new exhibition space. The selected studio, Lausanne-based iiode is developing an eco-driven concept based on a structure made of charred Swiss wood milled in Romandie, designed especially for the venue. The modular setup will be unveiled on 21 April at the opening of the Design Switzerland exhibition.

Design Switzerland takes part in the Milan Design Week in partnership with Design Preis Schweiz & NOV Gallery who will present their own selection of designers.
