Swiss Design Accelerator about to kick off

It’s finally here: the design studios selected to be part of the first Swiss Design Accelerator are about to fly to San Francisco where they will attend tailor-made coaching, skill development and matchmaking sessions during their week-long stay.

The five design studios selected for the Swiss Design Accelerator are:

Among other events, they will take part in a speed coaching and meetings with industry experts like Magali Charmot (Imprint Projects), Dawn Zidonis (SF Design Week), Jon Sueda (CCA, Stripe SF), Claude Zellweger (Google), Ramon Marc Zolliker (IDEO) & Sophie Lamparter (DART).

Caroline Niebling & Sarah Steiner (Worm Up) will be among the speakers in a round table on sustainable design, as part of the Swiss Touch USA-Campaign, alongside Claude Zellweger (Director of Design, Google), Dava Guthmiller (In/Visible Talks) & Curime Batliner (Sci Arc, LA).

The program will be completed with, among other activities, matchmaking sessions, meetings with the Startup Camp members, a skills development session with Yves Béhar (fuseproject) or  at IDEO San Francisco and networking sessions at In/visible Talks.

Developed together with swissnex San Francisco and in partnership with Design Preis Schweiz, the Swiss Design Accelerator’s aim is to introduce selected young Swiss designers to the US market, especially the Bay Area ecosystem and design related industry by building meaningful connections, creating business opportunities, and cultivating strategies and skills to better operate in this market.

Upcoming maintenance work

The application portal myprohelvetia will be updated from 1.1.-7.1.2024. Due to these changes, open applications must be finalized and submitted via the current online portal (myprohelvetia.ch) by the latest 23:59 on 31 December 2023. Until this date, the deadlines and criteria outlined in the current guidelines and calls for applications apply. New applications can be created and submitted in the application portal as of 8 January 2024.
