Design Preis Schweiz: 3 Pro Helvetia-supported projects awarded

The palmares of the Design Preis Schweiz has been unveiled on Friday night in Langenthal and three Pro Helvetia-supported designers are going home with an award.

After Work Studio (AWS) wins in the «Fashion Design» category with the collection «You must remove belts before walking through the metal detector». AWS are Karin Wüthrich & Matthias Fürst. They were supported by Pro Helvetia for this collection with a production and extension grant in the spring 2019 Call for projects.

CARU AG & Studio Porto win the «Product – Consumer Goods» category with their project «CARU». CARU AG are Susanne Dröscher & Thomas Helbling. Studio Porto are René Odermatt, Mario Rütimann & Kristian Marjanovic. «CARU», the first smart sensor for the care sector was presented in the Design Switzerland exhibition during Milano Design Week 2019.

Product designer Carolien Niebling wins the «Research» category with her book «The Sausage of the Future» which takes the reader on a journey through all the building blocks of a sausage. She is part of the designers selected for the Swiss Design Accelerator in San Francisco in January 2020, in partnership with Design Preis Schweiz. The full lineup will be announced next week.

Upcoming maintenance work

The application portal myprohelvetia will be updated from 1.1.-7.1.2024. Due to these changes, open applications must be finalized and submitted via the current online portal (myprohelvetia.ch) by the latest 23:59 on 31 December 2023. Until this date, the deadlines and criteria outlined in the current guidelines and calls for applications apply. New applications can be created and submitted in the application portal as of 8 January 2024.
