Freeskiing is an outdoor sport where the athlete is nature’s guest.
Ski touring requires to keep our environmental impact as low as possible : based on this observation, Hanno Schwab developed the idea to build sustainable skis, without compromising on the performance aspect.
Today Earlybird skis offers three different models, all based on its own «eco performance layup» construction. This technique combines FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) sourced woodcores, 100% natural flax fibers combined with carbon stringers for a perfect flex balance, bio based epoxy resin with lower environmental impact, PTEX racebase made from recycled material and wooden sidewalls and topsheets.
About
Earlybird skis was founded in 2014 in Bern by passionate free skier and engineer Hanno Schwab. The brand name has a double meaning: to be pioneer in sustainable ski engineering, but also to be the first up on the mountain and catch a big line. Earlybird was awarded by a ISPO Gold Award in 2015 in the ski touring category.
